Our story
How a twenty-year-old church in New Jersey came to plant a congregation in Gangnam — and why now.
Grace Community Chapel Seoul (GCC Seoul) is a community of faith built together by 1.5- and second-generation Korean-American believers, commissioned to Seoul from Grace Community Chapel in New Jersey (GCCNJ). It began with members who stepped away from familiar and comfortable lives in the United States. Answering God's call to go abroad, they committed to one ultimate goal: to build His kingdom first.

For twenty years, GCC has been dedicated to restoring biblical community and raising up gospel-centered, radical followers of Jesus Christ — in our church, in our local communities, and around the world. That work has meant missions partnerships in Tanzania, India, Armenia, Thailand, and Japan, as well as churches planted in New York, New Jersey, Sydney, and now Seoul. From New York to Seoul, the same journey of obedience continues.
We are praying for spiritual revival in Korea — that younger generations would awaken spiritually and fall deeply in love with their Savior, and that the faith of older generations would be reignited and set ablaze once again. We are sure that God's plan to revive Korea is already in the works and that it is going to be glorious! And understandably so, we are very excited to be a part of this story.
Our first Sunday in Seoul was May 3, 2026: eight adults and four children in a small music studio in Isu. By June, we were meeting in a lounge in Gangnam, and in August God gave us a home of our own — GRC Meeting Place, on Teheran-ro. Dedicated families have kept arriving from New Jersey all summer, and official Sunday worship begins in September 2026!

Our mission
Grace Community Chapel exists to make gospel-centered, radical followers of Jesus Christ in our church, in our local communities and around the world, restoring biblical communities of disciples.
Our vision
GCC Seoul’s vision is to make gospel-centered disciples of Jesus Christ in the new “10-40” window – that is, between the approximate ages of 10 and 40. We want to awaken younger generations of Christians and nurture their faith. By focusing on key stages of life, we hope to accomplish vertical (generational) as well as horizontal (global) missions, passing our faith on to younger generations. Our vision can be accomplished by 3 core pillars that we believe will enable us to ultimately fulfill the vision that God has placed in our hearts.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19–20

Church planting
We are a church planting church. We seek the restoration of Biblical church and raising up leaders to serve the local community.
Biblical education
We believe that a Christian worldview embedded in the next generation will lead to many future spiritual leaders. We equip our young people with academic excellence and a Godly perspective.
Missions
Our call for missions comes from Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus calls us to go and make disciples, teaching them to obey! We are committed to raising up and partnering with mission ministries across the globe.

What we believe
GCC Seoul is part of the Christian Reformed Church denomination. We affirm three creeds—the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed—as ecumenical expressions of the Christian faith. We also affirm three confessions—the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort—as historic Reformed expressions of the Christian faith, whose doctrines fully agree with the Word of God. Along with these historic creeds and confessions, we recognize the following Reformed expressions of the Christian faith, adopted by synod as contemporary testimonies: the call for unity, justice, and reconciliation of the Belhar Confession and the witness of Our World Belongs to God: A Contemporary Testimony.
